David's Books.

I have written five books in total. Two are published e-books for older children, one is a biography that currently needs  a publisher, and two are about my adventures in the third world.

My two "Younger persons" books are quite funny, even if I say so myself. They are suitable for children aged 9 to 16. They are science fiction stories set in the wonderful city of Salisbury, Wiltshire.

They are available online as e-books, right now from many book retailers, or I will give you a copy in WORD for free. But there is a catch. Yes, I would like your young people to read them and give me an honest opinion as to whether I should go the extra mile and have them printed in a standard book form. That is obviously going to cost me a fair bit of money, so I need to see if  the cost is worth it.

Oh! If the printed book project works out, I will send you one of the very first print editions, personally signed, as a gift of thanks.

Just choose which book you would like (or both, second book just below)

     and thank you,

     David Dell

I wrote these stories many years ago as bedtime stories for my daughter Xanthe. The locations are real and set in the beautiful Wiltshire city of Salisbury.

The story starts with an eccentric Welsh science professor, Dylan Jones. He is experimenting with time travel in a small cottage on the water meadows of Salisbury.

One night his experiments go awry and he accidentally sends himself off on an unplanned time travel journey.

His laboratory still has the energy vortex swirling around inside it and as it is a dark and stormy night, (it really was)- two swans just happen to walk in through the open door looking for a warm and dry place to sleep.

Wonderful and weird changes happen; they both grow slightly bigger, their eyes turn a beautiful shade of blue and they suddenly have the ability to speak almost perfect English.

Jack, unfortunately, also inherits an uncanny knack for destroying things. Not intentionally of course, but his actions lead to the destruction of nearby Stonehenge, the complete elimination of a small Wiltshire Village and the destruction of a wonderful English stately home.

AUDIO BOOK VERSION.

There is an audio book version  of this book available online through many outlets, however, if you are nice and write to me I will send you a copy for FREE.
